Liz is a sustainability and communications professional with 30 years’ experience in roles spanning corporate responsibility and sustainability, brand PR and corporate communications and philanthropy. She has had roles in agency and in-house and spent over 20 years in The Coca-Cola Company in Great Britain, most recently as the lead on corporate responsibility and sustainability, Liz was responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of frameworks, ambitions and partnerships, stakeholder engagement and driving an internal culture around sustainability.
Working in Coca-Cola GB, European and global teams over the years, she delivered complex multi-stakeholder projects while building brand and corporate reputation. Identifying, developing, and driving mutually valuable, collaborative partnerships involving private, public and third sector organisations. Liz has a passion for nature and has deepened this through a focus on water stewardship and nature-based solutions to address business risk and supply chain resilience, while enhancing and connecting communities.
She established and led several of Coca-Cola GB’s most successful long-term community and sustainability partnerships:
- with WWF-UK working in agricultural catchments in East Anglia to improve water and soil quality through farmer engagement, river restoration and joint advocacy to convene other businesses and policy makers;
- with The Rivers Trust to address water quality, flood risk, habitat improvement and carbon sequestration through nature-based interventions including installing urban wetlands and restoring peatland;
- with StreetGames, to support young people through sports and leadership opportunities in some of the UK’s most disadvantaged communities;
- and creating ParkLives, in partnership with 13 local authorities, to bring free activities to communities in local parks throughout the UK, a seven-year programme which saw over 1.4 million visits
