Cause
C&E was tasked to work with Comic Relief’s Trustees and leadership team to help consolidate the policies, strategies, and plans for its ESG agenda, following a challenging period for the charity. The resulting project connected Comic Relief’s social and environmental strategies and impacts for the first time. C&E also supported the development of the charity’s first equity, diversity and inclusion policy and plans, while providing strategic advice and thought partnership to help build processes and capabilities as Comic Relief strengthened its key corporate partnerships.
Effect
Resulting improvements included Comic Relief's first ever non-plastic red noses; better on-screen representation of the charity’s beneficiaries; an upgraded ethical investment policy, and enhanced longer term corporate partnerships. Clear risks to the brand were mitigated and the organisation’s values and opportunities strengthened.
